Music

Music and dance has always been closely connected in my artistic, teaching and therapy practice.
Being a dancer and singer I have been involved in many projects and performances, using live music on stage, for teaching,  and multi cultural community events (to encourage people of various backgrounds to have a voice).

I have been performing as a dancer and singer in several musicals.

I have had tuition with classical and holistic singing coaches (Alexander Massey) and performed with Judith Sheridan who organizes international choir projects based on
European classical music but also performing and bringing awareness of different cultural backgrounds and styles of singing.

Working with Fiona Dobie, as my singing teacher, in Oxford, since 2023.

Playing the Irish low whistle flute and recorders for many years.

Working with Jazz singer Linley Weir in London for 6 months, 2013.

Until 2016 I have been lead singer in an Oxfordshire based Jazz band for 5 years.
Singer in Shakhosi band, African inspired songs.

Assistant leader of a community choir, 2019 to 2025, role including teaching voice, singing techniques and body related exercises.

I am involved in experimental and improvisational singing, group and solo, also as part of the Oxford Improvisers, and work in close collaboration with  Malcolm Atkins, an Oxford based musician and composer, who leads on various community music and cross arts projects in Oxford. I am singing parts in his compositions which include many styles of music.
In that context I have been singing small solo parts in various choral and other music pieces.
